I pulled myself from nightmares,
Double-quilted hibernation,
Fever broken, shattered,
As I blinked into the day.
As bright as it’s alarming,
The cold grey light is calming,
As I see that sunrise happens
Now before I am awake.
Fighting from the covers,
They’re as amorous as lovers,
Hot as hell and sweating rapids
Knowing spring is on its way.
The mottled grey is leaking,
Tears on the window streaking,
But I close my eyes and smile
When I see my lover’s face.
